11

Last Sunday, Braxton had his 11 month birthday. It is crazy to me to think that this time last year I was hugely pregnant, working, and in school. These 11 months have flown by! Braxton doesn't have a doctor's appointment until next month, but he weighs about 22 pounds. I'm not sure on his height, but he is tall! His pants always look just a little too short... Anyway, on to the picture overload!
This little stinker learned how to pull up on his bed. Now at night he sits there and cries until I go get him because he is stuck and can't get back down... Yes, this is slightly problematic.
I will always love my baby in footy pajamas. Sporting his orange dinosaur that he likes to throw during church.
My sweet handsome boy!
Braxton loves to read. He turns the pages all by himself. I am trying to teach him how to point out Nephi in "Lehi's Journey" (Nephi is the only one shirtless, ha)! He has done it a couple times, but we need a little more practice.
Instagram picture. The wooden chair that my former boss Ken made Braxton for Christmas. Awesome, huh?
Another bath pic. But how could I leave this one out???
The only acceptable way to eat cheerios- straight off the couch.
Sometimes Braxton prefers to stand in his bed than to sleep in it. Mommy's not a fan.
His raspberry face! Ha! Kyle and I call it his duck face.

Milestones this month:

Crawling! Finally, this little bugger figured it out. He started right after the New Year.
Playing catch with his textured balls (video post to come).
Throwing everything, including but not limited to food and golf balls.
Babbling- mama, nana, dada, and others that have no spelling.
Pulling up on everything.
Opening drawers and pulling everything out.
Standing by himself. He is an expert at squats, too.
Taking one step by himself and then diving into our outstretched arms.
Pulling the child protectors out of the electrical outlets.
Listening when spoken to and following simple commands (come here, throw the ball, etc)
He is also very mobile- rolling, standing, standing to sitting, sitting to belly, crawling to sitting, crawling to standing. He can also bend over and pick up his toys while holding onto something for balance.

It's been quite a busy month for our little buddy. We love you so much, Sweetie, and love watching you learn and play and explore. You are still the happiest little guy. We always get comments about how adorable and content you are. Seriously. Like every time we leave the house. You are definitely a mama's boy, but always love playing rough with Dad. You are starting to get over your fear of strangers-especially if they let you play with the buttons or zipper on their coats. Also, you have finally outgrown your infant car seat and we bought you a new big boy car seat. I can't believe that you are 3x's bigger now than you were when we brought you home. We love you so much, and we can't imagine our lives without our favorite guy!

Baby's First Christmas

This post is a little... I mean... quite late. But here it is! Christmas 2011, Braxton's first Christmas.
Braxton sitting in his little wooden chair that my former boss, Ken, made for Braxton.
Fell asleep on Daddy's lap. He was exhausted from playing so hard and didn't want to miss out on any of the fun.
Playing with his race car track that Mama Mac got him.
I went shopping with my mom and sister after Christmas. Braxton made it through one store before he was out...
I got my haircut. Chopped 10 inches off of it!
Bathing in Grandma's sink :)
Christmas morning! Showing off his Christmas jammies, toothbrush, stocking and Cars chair.
My little buckaroo! Playing with Papa Kent and Aunt Livvy.
We made these adorable melting snowman sugar cookies.
Braxton being a goof one night when we went out for dinner. He loves straws!
Riding in the motorhome to church. Can you say 'white trash?' :)
Shooting 22's with Holly and Kyle.
Align CenterPassed out in his stroller at Silver Mountain Water Park.
And he was super happy when he woke up!
Family picture after church on Christmas Day.

We are so grateful for the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ and had a wonderful time celebrating with our family!

Thoughts...

  • I am so tired. Braxton, my used-to-be wonderful sleeper has been waking up at night again. *Sigh* I don't like sleep training because it is so hard emotionally, but I should probably start trying again. I am desperate for some sleep.
  • Braxton's first birthday is next month. You really feel old when your CHILDREN start having birthdays.
  • I wish the weather was warmer. I hate being out in the cold, and I am always concerned about taking Braxton out in it. Cabin fever is definitely setting in.
  • I just finished reading "The Help." Best book I've read in years. I can't wait to see the movie!
  • I should probably post pictures from Christmas break... it's only a month late!
  • I am freezing, so I am going to go to bed. Good night!

9 and 10

So I never wrote a 9 month blog post about Braxton, so I am doing a 9&10 month post since he will be 10 months old on Tuesday. These are the numbers from his 9 month well visit:

Height: 29.25 in, 75%
Weight: 21 lbs 5 oz, 57%
Head circumference: 17 in, 41%

Sitting in the chair at the doctor's office. Lovely phone picture :)
This picture makes me laugh. Wearing Daddy's earmuffs.
Braxton loves our Christmas tree. Too bad he can't crawl to it...
What a goof!
Pulled himself up to his dresser. I love his stance here, especially the potbelly.
Sitting with his feet crossed. He does this quite frequently.
Obsessed with zippers, buttons, and sweatshirt strings. Here he is eating my zipper.
Helpful, as always :)
Pulled himself up in the laundry basket. Little stinker!
In his adorable Sunday suit!

Here are some new things Braxton has started doing lately:

Shrieking like a little girl (thankfully this is phase passed quickly!)
Pulling up and walking along furniture
Crying when Mommy leaves the room, even when Daddy is playing with him.
New foods this month: scrambled eggs, cheese, black beans, tomatoes
Saying mama all the time
New favorite song: Itsy Bitsy Spider

Practicing for Christmas...

Everyone knows that the best part of Christmas is the boxes, right? Well, at least it is to this guy...

Ahh, the look of pure joy. :)
Love those baby blues!

So long, farwell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye...

to Braxton's helmet. That's right, Little Man got his helmet off on Tuesday.
Sitting at Dr. Dave's waiting to get his measurements taken.
Yes, that is a nylon on his head. :)
Handsome Boy's first picture sans helmet.
"Mama, enough with the pictures!"

Braxton only had to wear his helmet for two months.
We are so glad to be done with his helmet and PT.
Grateful that B's head and neck are better!

This Mama

loves her black bean and green boogie-faced little boy.
Even when he is sick and messy, I still find him absolutely adorable!
